A bunch of ronin students sharing an apartment in a forgotten corner of Tokyo, and nobody's trying to be the protagonist. Just four people who've already failed once, making tea and complaining about mock exams and their weird neighbor upstairs. The show moves at the speed of actual life, which means most of the time nothing happens, and that's the whole point.
Yurume Aida is a ronin who comes to Tokyo to study for her university entrance exams, only to find herself in a back-street neighborhood that hardly feels like the capital. Her boarding house is shared with other exam hopefuls: Sae Kawano, a veteran ronin who plays the straight man; Kumi Tanaka, a girl with an innocent look; and Matsukishi, a young man who appears twice his age. Few of them make real progress with their studies. Their easygoing routine comes under threat when Sae's younger sister moves in, sent to push Sae into working harder. The sister soon sees that Sae is not the only slacker in the house, and she may be the one who can turn this group of misfits around, provided she does not slip into their lazy habits herself. The OVA is a relaxed comedy and slice of life about exam preparation that moves at its own comfortable pace.
