The comedy is quieter now, built on the girls just being around each other rather than screaming at the top of their lungs. You notice the romance more because there's space for it to breathe. It's the kind of show where nothing happens and somehow that's exactly what you needed.

The Amusement Club is back in the old tea ceremony club outbuilding it claimed for itself, beside a small pond at the all-girls Nanamori Private Middle School. Kyoko, Yui, Akari and Chinatsu are back to their usual routine of doing absolutely nothing productive while somehow making it the most entertaining thing on screen. Kyoko stirs up trouble, Chinatsu plots, Yui fires back with retorts, and Akari struggles to get noticed, whether the day's pastime is an arm wrestling match or cooking pancakes together. Ayano, Chitose, Himawari and Sakurako of the student council often join in, and when all eight girls gather, things get chaotic. If you've watched the previous seasons, you know exactly what to expect: a laid-back slice of life comedy about friends determined to make every day fun.
