Girls from all over Japan come to Awajima Opera School hoping to win a place on its stage. Wakana dreams of becoming a musical star, and Kinue, the housemaster, applies herself with calm discipline to carry on a best friend's wishes. Emi, a beautiful scholarship student, is always at the center of attention, and Keiko finds herself torn between admiring her and measuring herself against her. The boarding house is both a refuge and a harsh arena where students compete with one another, and few ever reach the grand stage. Shifting between characters and time periods, this drama with music and romance follows their overlapping days of ambition, friendship and self-discovery.
