Yume Nijino enters Yotsuboshi Gakuen with one goal: to become a top idol. The school is home to the S4, an elite group made up of its four highest-ranked active idols. Every student dreams of joining their ranks, but only the most talented and dedicated make the cut. As a first-year, Yume sets out to find her own talent, with students choosing to specialize in beauty, singing, dancing or drama. Her opening performance goes brilliantly, yet she faints and cannot recall being on stage at all. While struggling to find her strength, she meets Rola Sakuraba, and the two become friendly rivals who push each other to improve. The newcomers learn to lean on one another to overcome their weaknesses, because reaching the S4 takes hard work, determination and teamwork. The result is a comedic music series about friendship, rivalry and growing as a performer.
