Nobody talks about this one. A show built entirely around the quiet act of looking up, at stars, at each other, at the possibility that some things don't need to be rushed. Mihoshi and Saku barely touch the romance plot, and that's the point; the real story lives in stargazing conversations and the slow recognition that you've been waiting for someone your whole life without knowing it. The animation treats the night sky like a character, not decoration. Saku Ooyagi comes back to his hometown after seven years away and soon crosses paths again with Mihoshi Akeno, a friend from his childhood. Their reunion is uneasy, because the last thing he remembers of her is the day she fell from a tree and he rescued her. Loud and full of energy, Mihoshi sets out to mend their strained bond and pushes a reluctant Saku into the astronomy club she started. The result is a romantic comedy with a slice of life feel, adapted from Mami Kashiwabara's manga, which ran in Monthly Afternoon.
