Red and Rit are getting married, and the show knows that's already won, it doesn't need to manufacture fake drama to justify why you keep watching. The real stakes are smaller: whether Ruti can choose her own life instead of the one her blessing demands, whether a cursed swordsman can become more than his curse, whether a village full of broken people can actually stay broken together and call it home. The apothecary's counter and the hot spring are more honest places than any dungeon this series could build.

Red was once pushed out of the Hero's party, and now he runs an apothecary in the remote border town of Zoltan. He shares his quiet days with Princess Rit, his lifelong love and soon to be his fiancee, while his sister Ruti, a former Hero finally free of her Blessing's compulsions, lives nearby with her assassin housemate Tisse. Their life is full of simple pleasures: relaxing soaks in hot springs, good food with a lovely view, and trips in search of fine gems. That calm is threatened when a new Hero appears, one whose rigid reading of his Blessing's urges brings strife and misery to sleepy Zoltan. The season blends fantasy action and adventure with romance and slice-of-life comfort.
