Roberta doesn't just come back, she comes back broken, and watching her realize what vengeance actually costs is the whole point. The animation doesn't pull punches; every bullet finds meat, every blade cuts wet, and the sound design makes you feel the weight of each kill. By the time you understand what Garcia is actually asking of her, the show has already shown you why she can't say no.

When the head of the Venezuelan Lovelace family is assassinated, his maid Roberta, a former terrorist and skilled guerrilla soldier, sets out for revenge. Her hunt for the killers leads her back to Roanapur, the corrupt city she has visited before. Garcia, the young heir to the Lovelace estate, follows her to Thailand with his bodyguard Fabiola Iglesias, Roberta's apprentice and fellow maid. He turns to the Lagoon Company for help in stopping Roberta and bringing her home. As the bodies pile up, tensions rise between Roberta, the island's crime factions and the US military, and the violence threatens to erupt into all-out war.
