This is the OVA that remembers why you liked these characters in the first place. The jokes land because they're rooted in actual personality, not punchline templates, and watching Deku panic while Bakugo loses his mind over a zombie invasion is exactly the chaos the main series earns but rarely lets itself have. It's a warmup with a real pulse, not filler disguised as content.
Fresh from their internships, the students of Class 1-A are sent straight into another round of training by homeroom teacher Shouta Aizawa. This time they are joined by four students from a visiting high school for a survival game, in which teams of four win by knocking out rivals or staying hidden until the clock runs out. For Tsuyu Asui, the session doubles as a reunion with her middle school friend Habuko Mongoose. Not every guest is so friendly, though. Katsuki Bakugou quickly clashes with Romero Fujimi, and the quarrel ends with Romero unleashing his Quirk, a gas that turns anyone it touches into a zombie. With most of the people around them now undead, the remaining students have to figure out how to cope. The OVA mixes action and comedy and is set after the field training arc of the second season.
