In August 2026, Natori Touko, a third-year middle schooler at the Eastern Private Defense Academy, reaches the last day of a punishing stretch of field training under instructor Kamiya at the Fuji Training Facility. Kamiya suggests an extracurricular class called Newest Weapons Research. Soon afterward, an incident shakes the whole of Japan. The story runs as a five-episode action ONA from 2011, and it launched Enterbrain's XXolution project, a multimedia effort spanning manga, novels, anime, music and more.
