The show doesn't parody Nodame Cantabile so much as let it loose in a room with no rules and watch what breaks first. Every joke lands because it assumes you've sat through the earnest melodrama of the original, then takes that exact sincerity and snaps it like a conductor's baton. Four episodes is the perfect length for a spoof that knows better than to overstay the punchline, it gets in, dismantles the pretension, and leaves before you realize you've been laughing at the same thing the whole time.

Project Channel 5.5 returns with a new run of comedy shorts, produced alongside the Calorie Mate energy snack brand and Frogman of Eagle Talon. After earlier shorts that parodied Ghost in the Shell: Arise, this third season aims its jokes at Nodame Cantabile, Tomoko Ninomiya's josei manga set in the world of classical music. The cast changes again: Yuuki Kaji voices Shinichi Chiaki, the piano student who demands perfection of himself, taking over from Tomokazu Seki. Tomoko Kaneda plays Megumi Noda, the carefree girl who serves as his counterpart, a part Ayako Kawasumi voiced in earlier adaptations. The season runs four episodes as an online release.
