The Hataraku Maou-sama cast shrunk down to chibi proportions hits comedy angles the original never could. A demon lord working minimum wage is already funny, but watching him do it at 3 inches tall with exaggerated proportions and zero dignity is a completely different animal. The format doesn't just retell jokes from the main series, it finds new ones in the physical comedy and absurdist energy that only works when everyone looks ridiculous. This is what happens when you let a gag premise breathe instead of trying to build toward something bigger.

Chiichai! Maou-sama!! is a chibi spin-off of Hataraku Maou-sama!!, presented as a comedy in the form of short web episodes. The 2022 ONA runs 24 episodes and was released on Twitter and YouTube. Fans of the main series can expect its cast redrawn in a small, cute chibi style for light comic fun.
