Five seasons in, this thing has stopped trying to be an anime and become a running joke that Chiba Prefecture is somehow in on. The Chou Futsuu formula never needed plot: it needed real streets, real local trivia, and junior high girls reacting to surreal nonsense with the flat calm of people who ride that train line every day. Kashiwa Densetsu R already proved you can build a gag short out of town events and mystery creatures, and Chiba Densetsu handed Shikawa Ako the thankless job of being the normal one while the ordinary curdled into the absurd. Now the series drags the mahou shoujo genre into its orbit with Asumi and a Toruverse, which is exactly the kind of escalation this franchise treats as a Tuesday. It runs short, it does not explain itself, and it assumes you have been here since Kashiwa. If you have, that assumption is the whole reward.
