A magical girl who actively does not want to be a magical girl, sent across the galaxy to retrieve a prince she has zero interest in marrying. The show treats her refusal as the entire premise, not the setup for her eventual acceptance. Comet spends 43 episodes being selfish, lazy, and genuinely funny about having her life dictated by star politics, turning what could have been a by-the-numbers shoujo into something that gets comedy out of a protagonist who never learns the lesson she's supposed to learn. The alien fish-out-of-water angle gives it enough space to be silly without pretending it's anything deeper than it is. A show that knew exactly what it wanted to be and didn't apologize for it.

Comet, princess of the Harmonica star world, has little interest in the prince of the Tambourine star world or the plan for him to choose a bride. When he vanishes to Earth instead of turning up at the ball, she is sent after him, much to her dismay. With a baton powered by the stars of her home and a pendant that can track the prince, she travels to Earth with her puppy companion Rubba Ball. There she comes to love the people she meets, while Princess Meteor of the Castanet star world joins the search. The show mixes magical girl adventure, comedy and sci-fi.
