The cat is back, five years later, still moving like someone forgot to tell animation it had to slow down. Dark Side Cat Versus keeps what made the first run work: three episodes of a leather-jacketed stray doing what he wants to the people who had it coming, animated with the speed and spite of early 2000s western cartoons that knew how to make five minutes feel dangerous. If you watched the original and thought "I want more of exactly this," the sequel doesn't betray that ask.

Dark Side Cat Versus is a three-episode ONA from 2011 and the sequel to the Ankoku Cat series. The earlier entry introduced Dark Side Cat, a mysterious stray who races through the city at night dressed in punk clothes, pulling pranks on people he does not like and dodging the city council in a chase called the "Stray Cat Hunt." This follow-up mixes action with comedy.
