The opening episodes feel like watching someone play a game they haven't learned the rules to yet. By episode five, the show figures out that it doesn't need rules at all, and the nonsense becomes precise. The final stretch abandons comedy entirely for genuinely epic moments that somehow work because you've spent eleven episodes watching these incompetent detectives earn something bigger than themselves.
SYNOPSIS
The four detectives of Milky Holmes are back, but their world looks completely different now. Stripped of the Toys that made them famous, Sheryl, Nero, Elly, and Cordelia have become laughingstocks at Holmes Detective Academy. Their former glory feels like ancient history as classmates who once admired them now mock their powerlessness. The Gentlemen Thief Empire still operates in Yokohama, and the girls know they need to find a way forward, whether that means recovering their lost abilities or proving they have value without them. What unfolds is a chaotic blend of slapstick comedy and genuine mystery as the group stumbles through cases and schemes that would be laughable if they weren't so determined. They're underdogs trying to claw back respect in a city that has already written them off. The show balances absurdist humor with moments that hint at real growth beneath the comedy. If you enjoy underdog stories with comedy that doesn't take itself seriously, mixed with actual detective work and the question of what defines a hero, this second season delivers.
