Doug and Kirill's chemistry is immediate and stupid in the best way, turning every drug bust into a comedy sketch that somehow also solves the mystery. The narrator screams, the soundtrack slaps, and the show knows exactly how funny it is without ever winking at you. Episodes work standalone, so you can drop in whenever, but the cast grows on you fast enough that you'll want to watch them all anyway.

Two suns shine over the city-state of Lisvalletta, where daily life looks calm while crime and illicit drugs spread out of sight. The worst of these is Anthem, a deadly substance that can push users into a state called Overdrive, turning them into monstrous beings with inhuman powers. Ordinary police cannot handle the threat, so the job goes to SEVEN-O, a special crime investigation unit whose members work in two-person buddy teams under the Double Decker system. Kirill Vrubel is an average police officer who has dreamed since childhood of being a hero. While hunting for his landlady's missing cat, he stumbles into a hostage crisis involving an Anthem user and teams up with seasoned SEVEN-O detective Doug Billingham, earning a place in the unit. The mix of action, comedy, mystery and science fiction frames a buddy cop story about a would-be hero whose abilities remain unknown.
