Two franchises collide and immediately understand each other's sense of humor. Lucy and Elie's chemistry carries what little plot exists, but that's the point, this is pure fan service that knows exactly what fans want to see: characters bouncing off each other across universes, the comedy landing because Mashima already knows how to write these people. It costs nothing to watch and asks nothing in return except that you showed up for the characters, not the story.
Lucy, Natsu and Happy of the Fairy Tail guild are on a job to track down and stop a troublesome mage when they lose each other in an unfamiliar town. Haru, Elie and their companions from Rave Master end up scattered the same way. Elie meets Lucy and Happy, who are looking for Natsu, while Haru comes across Natsu as he suffers from motion sickness. The trouble is that the friendly Elie fits the description of the very mage the guild was sent after, and once Natsu hears that Haru is connected to her, he takes the pair for partners in crime. Misunderstandings pile up until the two sides trade blows, but they eventually have to join forces against a shared enemy. This single OVA crossover blends comedy, action and fantasy adventure from Mashima's two series.
