Ardyn Izunia, the chief antagonist of Final Fantasy XV, is the focus of this one-episode fantasy prologue set some two thousand years before the game's main story. The world of Eos, where gods live among humans, is sinking into darkness as daemons ravage the land and crush armies. House Caelum gains the people's loyalty through divine healing that cleanses the monsters' plague. With the first human kingdom lacking a ruler, the gods look to that bloodline, and two brothers become rivals for the throne: the ambitious, charismatic Somnus and the humble, selfless Ardyn. The result is a tale of suffering, death and resurrection that leads into the game.
