Naota is a sixth grader in a city where nothing much ever happens. With his brother Tasuku off playing baseball in America, Naota has inherited his top bunk and his clingy ex-girlfriend, Mamimi. Then Haruko, a pink-haired girl on a Vespa who says she is an alien, runs him down with her scooter and smacks him with a bass guitar, leaving a horn growing from his head. Soon she moves into his family's home, and giant fighting robots start emerging from his skull. What unfolds is a rapid-fire blend of slapstick comedy and surreal mecha action. Naota is pulled into the hidden plans of a huge corporation and a struggle for supremacy that may reach far beyond Earth, all while coping with the awkwardness of growing up.
