A fudanshi gets isekai'd into his own BL fantasy and immediately tries to game the system with the one skill he actually has: knowing how this stuff works. Three episodes of watching Kotone weaponize his manga expertise against a half-serpent deity who just wants a promotion is exactly the self-aware joke the premise was always asking for. The show gets funnier because it never stops taking Kotone seriously, even when the setup is absurd.

Three more short comedy episodes of Fudanshi Shoukan arrive in this third mini anime season, released online in 2022. The franchise centers on Kotone, a fudanshi who dies in a truck accident while buying BL manga and wakes up in an old Asian-style palace. There, Nagi, a man who is half serpent, names him his Miko, because the two must sleep together for Nagi to rise to a higher form and become a dragon. Kotone knows BL tropes inside and out, sees which role he is meant to play, and resolves to use that knowledge to keep from falling in love.
