This is what happens when someone asks "what if we took historical badasses and made them compete for student council president" and nobody told them to stop. The show commits so hard to the bit that Date Masamune's rivalry with Sanada Yukimura becomes genuinely entertaining, even when the premise is ridiculous. Comedy is the only thing that matters here, and it swings so wildly that you either surrender to the chaos or you're out by episode two.

Warriors from the Warring States Era, drawn from CAPCOM's action game franchise, are recast as rival students at Basara Academy, a modern high school. With student council president Toyotomi Hideyoshi suspended, his seat is open. First-year athletes Date Masamune, a baseball standout, and Sanada Yukimura, a soccer ace, compete to take it, while other class warlords such as Tokugawa Ieyasu and Ishida Mitsunari chase power too. The contest plays out through eating competitions and punishing sports challenges in a parody school battle comedy.
