A monster crawls out from under the bed and the show immediately betrays every expectation you walked in with. Girl X treats a five-minute premise like it has nowhere to prove itself, letting comedy live in the space between what should happen and what actually does. A girl is reading quietly at home when a strange blue creature comes crawling out from under her bed.
