The actual joke isn't that a kid looks like a gorilla, it's that every adult and student in his life has already decided he's dangerous, so they bully him until he has no choice but to fight back, then act shocked when he does. Tadashi doesn't want violence; the world keeps forcing his hand, and the comedy comes from how completely the system fails him while treating it like his fault. Two episodes is barely enough time to land this premise, which means every scene counts.
