The comedy lands because every character is broken in a different way, and they know it, and they keep trying anyway. Romance blooms sideways, nobody gets what they want, everyone wants something different, and that friction is the entire joke. The show ends on a cliffhanger that feels like a middle finger to closure, but by then you're already invested in watching these disasters figure out what friendship actually costs.

Kodaka Hasegawa and the other members of the Neighbor's Club, a school club set up so that students with few friends can make some, carry on with their usual routine even after something happened to Yozora Mikazuki at the end of summer. A strange nun, members of the student council and other newcomers turn up, and Kodaka's days get even busier. The club visits an amusement park, plays games, celebrates birthdays and takes on the school festival, and over time the bonds between the members start to shift.
