A doll asks you to save her kingdom, and by the end you're watching a Pretty Cure movie that actually cares about the person you came to protect. Tsumugi's arc doesn't get lost in transformation sequences or villain-of-the-week battles. This is what the main series struggles with, condensed into a story that knows exactly what it wants from you: proof that magical girls can fight for someone specific, not just the world in general.

While the Pretty Cures are watching a doll play, the dolls suddenly begin to talk. A ballerina doll named Tsumugi begs them to rescue her home and brings them to the Doll Kingdom, where dolls live. Instead of the cute stuffed animals they expect, they find the realm under attack by Saiark and by a mysterious man called Black Fang, who captures Tsumugi. The kingdom is supposed to overflow with happiness, yet it hides a sad secret, and not everything there is what it appears to be. The result is a magical girl film centered on the Cures' fight to save the kingdom.
