A dog walks home across an entire country because two kids need him more than he needs to stop. Sol and Dong live in an island village with their widowed father, a fisherman. One day a white puppy comes into their lives, and they take him in and call him Max. After their father dies at sea, events part Max from Sol and Dong, and the young dog has to summon the determination to fight his way back home and be reunited with the children who raised him.
