Anime Like Humanoid Monster Bem (2006)
Three monsters choose to protect a city that will never stop treating them like threats. They fight the actual evil, absorb the hatred anyway, and come back the next night to do it again. SYNOPSIS
Three creatures arrive in a sprawling coastal city with faces that mark them as monsters. Bem, Bera, and Barro aren't human, but they're not quite like the other youkai that prowl the streets either. Something feels wrong in this place: a thick spiritual pollution hangs over everything, born from human cruelty and the chaos of otherworldly predators hunting in the shadows. The trio decides to stay, positioning themselves as unlikely guardians against the creatures that prey on unsuspecting people. Night after night, they fight to protect a city that fears and rejects them. Scars run deep on both sides. Humans attack them for their appearance. Youkai dismiss them as traitors. Yet Bem, Bera, and Barro keep pushing forward, clinging to a dangerous hope: that through enough good deeds, enough sacrifices, they might finally earn the one thing they crave most.
