Three monsters choose to protect a city that will never stop treating them like threats. They fight the actual evil, absorb the hatred anyway, and come back the next night to do it again. Bem doesn't ask you to forgive them for looking wrong. It asks you to watch them earn forgiveness by being better than the humans who created the mess they're cleaning up.
Three youkai named Bem, Bera and Barro arrive in a large coastal city and sense something wrong there: an evil atmosphere hangs over the streets, fed by human wrongdoing and by the mischief of monsters and other youkai. The trio decides to stay, fighting the creatures that attack people and making a few friends along the way. Humans often mistreat them because of how they look, yet they keep defending the city's people. They hold on to one hope: that their good deeds might someday let them become human. A horror remake of the original Youkai Ningen Bem, which aired from 1968 to 1969.
