Lloyd's obsession with magic mastery stays ridiculous because the show never lets the bit die, even when holy magic should be serious. The animation team moves his derpy face through every sacred moment like they're daring you to take anything at face value. Season 2 stretches one arc across all 12 episodes instead of keeping the quick-hit episodic structure that made season 1 breathe, which tanks momentum hard when the jokes start repeating.

Lloyd, the seventh prince of the Kingdom of Saloum, keeps working toward mastering every kind of magic, and holy magic is now his aim. He was once a commoner who could never grasp magic. Reborn with his memories intact and an endless supply of mana, he has all the time he wants, since he has no claim to the throne. Having won his battle against Guisarme in the Lordost region and mastered demonic magic, he sets out for a church with his companions to learn divine magic. His love of unholy magic, however, draws the attention of divine beings who regard him as little more than demonic spawn. The season mixes action, adventure and fantasy with slice of life moments.
