Three idol units face off in a competitive battle royale, and each is guided by a commander from the Sengoku era who has been reborn in the present day as a music producer. The contest begins when Fool's End, a top national idol group, abruptly announces that it is disbanding and will pass the Tenka Bata, an honor only the very best idols may hold, to a successor. The winner is decided by combined totals of music sales, concert attendance, merchandise sales and voting at each live show, and the victorious group earns a grand concert and the title of greatest under the heavens. At the Kawanakajima Festival, where NO PRINCESS, Lunatic Eyes and X-UC are all scheduled to appear, X-UC's youngest member, Umino Risa, is overwhelmed by how skilled the rival idols are and flees, leaving her group to perform with nine members. Then comes word that the festival itself is the opening round of the battle.
