A kid inherits a space company and immediately gets conscripted into defending Earth because his dad's greatest invention happens to be a combat robot. The show treats this collision between corporate responsibility and giant robot warfare like a joke, because it is one. Takeo stumbling through alien invasions while trying to run a business that was never designed for this is the entire premise, and it never pretends to be anything more serious than that.

When his father dies, Takeo Watta inherits a company devoted to space travel, whose proudest creation is Trider G7, a robot that can transform. Then an evil space organization led by Lord Zakuron begins attacking Earth, and Takeo has to turn Trider toward combat. Played for laughs as much as for thrills, the series mixes comedy with giant robot battles and science fiction as a company built for space travel is pulled into defending the planet.
