It sells you a beach vacation and hands you a funeral. Bell wins a free trip, gets drafted as the champion of Artemis, and the sand labyrinth turns what should be a filler holiday into the most emotionally expensive night of his life. Hestia's territorial sulking over another goddess in Bell's orbit is played for laughs right up until the laughs stop, and Lili, Welf and Mikoto get to actually fight instead of standing around, with Ais cutting through the desert like the walking argument for why Bell keeps running. Then Antares shows up, the arrow needs a price, and Artemis pays it. The last shot of Bell holding a bow he never wanted is the reason this movie sits heavier than a side story has any right to.

Bell Cranel, a member of the goddess Hestia's familia, gets what looks like a rare break from danger when he wins a free trip during Orario's Holy Moon Festival. The prize comes from a game hosted by the god Hermes, but the real catch is that Bell has been unexpectedly chosen as the champion of Artemis, a friend of Hestia. Artemis has sworn to destroy a new threat rising far from the dungeon, and Bell must stand with her against a menace hiding in the ruins of a distant ancient city.
