This show knows the joke is that nobody can take a shrine festival or a cooking competition seriously when your cast includes a chainsaw-wielding zombie and a demon crying about freeloading. The OVAs don't waste time on plot, they burn through absurdist gags at the speed of someone who understands that the funniest thing about supernatural comedy is watching normal school events get absolutely derailed by supernatural stupidity. You're here for Ayumu's deadpan suffering and Haruna's chaotic energy, and these episodes deliver both at full throttle.

Set between the first and second seasons, these two OVAs came bundled with the 8th and 10th volumes of the original novel. Haruna is handed the job of running a Spring Festival at the local shrine and approaches it in her own magical Equipment girl fashion. Seraphim, unwilling to live as a freeloader in the home Haruna shares with Ayumu, starts cooking, while a concentration game contest in the school's main hall pushes Ayumu and Orito as far as they can go. Later, Haruna wants more playtime with Hellscythe at a swimming pool, and with Hellscythe's birthday approaching, she arranges a party her own way as Ayumu and the others think about gifts. Expect supernatural action comedy with an ecchi streak.
