A man dies in a cult ritual and wakes up in a world that has literally never heard of god, then has to explain religion to people using nothing but lies and manipulation. The comedy lands because it's genuinely stupid in the best way, every episode pivots on something so absurd you didn't see it coming. Yukito has no powers, no cheat code, just a dead serious face and an unhinged willingness to bullshit his way through existential problems that shouldn't be funny but are.

Yukito is heir to his father's cult and builds his life around Mitama, a mysterious goddess. When a ritual goes wrong and he drowns, he is reborn in a world with no concept of god, where the Imperial State decides who lives and who dies. There he meets a deviant girl named Aruaru, who brings him to her village, but he soon learns that the government can order any citizen to die at any moment. As Yukito fights to protect his new village, someone from his past life steps in to help him. The series mixes fantasy action with comedy, drama and ecchi elements.
