Three different studios. Three different directors. Each episode treats the source material like a joke only they're allowed to tell. Production I.G goes mythic and brutal, Studio 4°C goes grotesque, SHAFT goes absurdist domestic comedy, and somehow they all feel like the same show because they're all riffing on Pit's exhausted refusal to take any of this seriously. The format doesn't let anything overstay its welcome, which means every bit lands exactly as hard as it needs to.

Pit sets out to protect humanity when Thanatos, the wicked God of Death, leads the Underworld Army on a destructive rampage. The goddess Palutena has given him the Power of Flight, and he uses it to try to halt the assault. The three short episodes are based on the Nintendo 3DS game Kid Icarus: Uprising and mix adventure, comedy and fantasy. Each episode comes from a different studio: Production I.G, Studio 4°C and SHAFT. Their titles point to Thanatos, Medusa and a revolting meal tied to Palutena. The directors are Junichi Fujisaku, Kazuto Nakazawa and Akiyuki Shinbou.
