Anime Like Koe de Oshigoto
The premise is stupid. The execution is not. Two episodes of a high school girl stumbling through eroge voice lines while her sister cracks the whip, and somehow the voice acting alone makes every awkward take land harder than it has any right to. SYNOPSIS
On her sixteenth birthday, Kanna gets the strangest job offer imaginable: her older sister wants her to work as a voice actress for adult video games at the family company. The catch is that Kanna has zero experience in the industry and even less knowledge about what the job actually entails. She's innocent, naive, and completely unprepared for what she's walking into. What follows is a crash course in awkwardness as Kanna attempts to record suggestive lines while remaining blissfully clueless about half of what she's saying. Her coworkers are bemused. Her sister is determined. The scripts keep getting more elaborate. Every session pushes Kanna further out of her comfort zone, forcing her to navigate between her earnest desire to do well at her job and her total mortification at the material itself. The humor comes from watching someone so pure trying to professionalize something inherently ridiculous. It's comedy built on innocent misunderstandings and escalating embarrassment, played with a wink and a nudge at the absurdity of the whole situation.
