This is a movie that exists entirely in the space between frames. Every magic spell becomes an excuse to redraw reality, every conversation gets animated with the kind of physical comedy that makes you forget this is technically just three girls talking. The story about witches reclaiming their image is straightforward enough to never get in the way, but Akko's absolute refusal to accept "that's just how it is" grounds the whole thing in something real. You watch this for the animation, yes, but you stay because these three actually feel like people who belong in the world they're saving.

Three mischievous witches stand on the edge of expulsion, their magical track record a disaster waiting to happen. When Luna Nova Academy assigns them to organize the town's annual parade, it seems like a punishment disguised as a second chance. Then Akko uncovers the truth: the parade exists to celebrate humanity's triumph over witches, a relic of old prejudices that shouldn't still exist. Refusing to accept that narrative, Akko decides the parade will become something revolutionary instead. She'll transform it into a celebration of modern witchcraft, proof that witches deserve respect and wonder rather than mockery. Lotte, Sucy and three fellow troublemakers, Amanda, Constanze and Jasmineka, have trouble matching her lofty plans, and mischievous boys and slumbering giants stand in their way. Pulling it off may take every bit of magic the students can summon, plus a miracle, in this comic fantasy film.
