Nine girls stand at a crossroads. μ's are the reigning school idol champions, and with their senior members graduating, the group has planned to disband. Then news arrives that leads to a concert event, and an invitation takes them to New York to share the joy of school idols abroad. Their fame now draws crowds wherever they appear, and the rival group A-RISE, Otonokizaka High School and Love Live! itself all press them to keep performing. Leader Honoka Kousaka wonders whether their chosen path is right, and the nine must settle on what they truly want. As the final chapter of their story, the film asks what being an idol means to each of them and what ties the group together, told through music and everyday moments.
