A lonely girl steps into a library and finds a world where fairy tales are real weapons, where each girl carries the magic of stories only she can wield. The first half is electric with that specific energy: pure discovery, character charm that lands immediately, cute girls solving problems through storybook logic. Then episode nine happens, the animation tanks hard, and the show limps to a premature ending that nobody saw coming. It doesn't matter. By then you're already attached to these girls and the fairy tale magic system they live in, and that's what sticks with you when the credits roll.
Hazuki spends her days lost in books, a lonely girl caught between her new family and the comfort of fictional worlds. When a library bookshelf becomes a portal, she's transported to a hidden academy where young women called mädchen train to manifest the magic of ancient stories. The students draw on tales ranging from Kaguya-hime and Issun-boushi to Arthurian legend and the Ramayana, and Hazuki learns that Cinderella has chosen her. At the school she meets Shizuka, who becomes her first friend, and starts a new life learning to use magic. The result is a fantasy magical girl series adapted from a light novel.
