This is the Negima equivalent of a yearbook you actually reread. Three shorts built for one purpose: put names on faces before the TV series buries you under an entire class of Mahora Academy girls. The first one replays chapter one, Negi getting handed a teaching job he did not ask for, then stops to hand out formal profiles for the Baka Rangers, Asuna, Makie, Yue and Ku Fei, like the show knows exactly which five you were going to mix up. Be honest about what it is: mostly recycled footage with a few scraps that never made it into the series proper, and nobody can agree whether you watch it before or after. But the voice work lands and the sound design punches above the budget, and if you have ever paused a group shot going "wait, which one is that," this exists for you.

Negi learns that his new job is teaching a class of students at Mahora Academy, and he meets the girls of 2-A. The three OVAs were made before the series began, purely to introduce its characters, and each one restages an early chapter. The first covers Negi's arrival and closes with profiles of the Baka Rangers and Ayaka. The second revisits a love potion mishap. The third sends Negi on a campus tour with the Narutaki twins, meeting some classmates and missing others. The mix is comedy, romance, ecchi and supernatural action.
