The aliens interrupt your wedding day, so you pilot a giant robot together because that's what you do when you love someone. Godannar doesn't separate the romance from the action, it runs them through the same engine, so every fight is also a fight to protect what you just promised to protect forever. The show means it when it says the couple is stronger merged than apart.

Goh Saruwatari first crossed paths with Anna Aoi five years ago, while he was piloting the robot Dannar against the alien Mimesis. Now the two are set to marry, but the Mimesis attack in the middle of their wedding and Goh has to fight. As he struggles against the invaders, Anna comes across a classified robot called Neo-Okusaer and takes it into battle as a final attempt to rescue him. Dannar and Neo-Okusaer then combine into a powerful new machine: Godannar. Expect a mix of comedy, romance, ecchi and giant robot science fiction.
