Kamakura becomes a character itself in this show. The backgrounds are so specific, so loved, that you're not just watching girls ride bikes, you're cycling through a real place that the animators clearly cared about enough to get right. What hooks you is how naturally the cycling education lands; these aren't lectures, they're just what happens when friends teach each other to ride better. The slice-of-life rhythm is predictable, but that's the point, you're meant to settle into Hiromi's new life the way she does, and by episode three you're already thinking about visiting Kamakura yourself.

Hiromi Maiharu has moved from Nagasaki to Kamakura and decides to start her first day at Minami Kamakura High School by riding her bike there, even though she has not been on one in years. On the way to the opening ceremony she nearly collides with Tomoe Akitsuki. Seeing how much practice Hiromi needs, Tomoe offers to help her improve, and the two become close friends. When they learn the school once had a cycling club, they team up with Fuyune Kamikura and Natsumi Higa to bring it back. The result is a sports series about four girls and the cycling club they revive.
