Hathaway stops being about the mission and becomes about two people whose damage mirrors each other so perfectly it breaks them both differently. The animation doesn't just show you what's happening, it shows you what Hathaway can't say, what Gigi won't admit, the space between them getting smaller every frame. By the end, you're not watching a political thriller anymore. You're watching a man realize the girl he's drawn to is a mirror he can't afford to look into, and she knows it.

Set in U.C. 0105, twelve years after Char's Rebellion, this second film in the Hathaway trilogy finds Hathaway Noa, son of Bright Noa and secret leader of Mafty, preparing an air raid on the Adelaide Conference. Still carrying old trauma, he is drawn to Gigi Andalucia, a mysterious girl whose strange powers stir memories in him, and her cryptic words shake him. On the Federation side, Kenneth Sleg plans the conference's defense and a strike against Mafty, until Handley Yoxon of the Criminal Police Organization comes to him with a secret proposal. As both men pursue their goals, Gigi heads to Hong Kong to play her own part.
