Nobody talks about this one. A 1991 OVA about stock market warfare sounds like it should be boring corporate nonsense, but it treats the waterfront development scheme like a military campaign, all tension and betrayal and fortunes won and lost in a single episode. The animation budget went into making money moves look as visceral as gunfire. A new waterfront district is going up in Tokyo, and Lin Haifeng, a figure in the Chinese mafia, wants it for himself. His method is to buy up a controlling share of the company handling the construction, then use the waterfront as an entry point for the mafia and remake Tokyo into a New Hong Kong. When Kurihara takes his own life after unwittingly helping Lin acquire stock, his friend Tsuyoshi Aiba sets out to avenge him by stopping Lin's takeover. The result is a single-episode 1991 OVA that treats the stock market as a battlefield.
