You know the show has earned its chaos when the joke stops being "these four idiots are in prison" and becomes "these four idiots are the only thing standing between the prison and someone who actually knows how to break it." The comedy never stops, but the stakes shift from personal to institutional. By the time you realize the guard-turned-inmate isn't just another obstacle, the show has already convinced you that Jyugo's crew, fractured, selfish, loyal only when it counts, might be the only ones who can stop him.

Life at Nanba prison has settled back into its familiar rhythm: the four inmates return to their usual antics, and prisoners and guards alike carry on with their comfortable routines. That calm does not last. A former guard who is now an inmate puts a scheme of his own into action, and a new threat surfaces in Enki Gokuu, someone connected to Samon's past whose aims remain a mystery. This second part of Nanbaka is an ONA that mixes action, comedy and drama in the daily lives of Nanba's inmates and guards.
