A cat moves through Japan like it has nowhere to be, finding the small beautiful things that don't need explaining. No plot arrives to interrupt it. The show understands that sometimes sitting with a character while they notice the world is enough. You watch Dayan eat, explore, rest, and exist, and somehow that becomes the whole point. This is what comfort actually feels like when nothing is trying to earn your tears.

Dayan the cat is back for a second season of short episodes, and this time he and his friends set out for Japan, roaming the country with lively enthusiasm. In the first season, Dayan was a cat from Earth who reached Wachi Field through Snow magic. That unhurried land of animals and fairies was cut off from Earth long ago by the Snow God after a ruinous conflict among gods and titans. The season runs for twelve short episodes and aired in 2015.
