Renji just wants to graduate, but the world has other plans, and that gap between the life he wants and the one he's forced to live is the whole show. Elis arrives as a transfer student with hidden powers, and the Astronomy Club becomes her anchor to something normal while everything around them collapses into artifact hunts and apocalyptic timelines. The plot is straightforward, collect the magical items, stop the darkness, but the show earns its twist by making you care about four teenagers who would rather be anywhere else, and by episode 10 it fractures everything you thought you understood about why they're even fighting.

Renji Hiiragi is a Night Wizard, one of those charged with protecting the world from the darkness that threatens it. His missions keep pulling him away, even though all he really wants is to attend school and graduate. His newest order is to guard Elis Shiho, a transfer student at his academy. On her first day, Renji's childhood friend Kureha Akabane drags Elis into the Astronomy Club. Soon after, Elis obtains the Jewel of Kindness, one of the Jewels of the Seven Virtues, and realizes she can become a Night Wizard too. Together with Renji and Kureha, she begins a new and dangerous life in this fantasy adventure.
