Late one night in New York City, a ninja named Ryu fights off a group of assassins and finds a Friedman Company ID card on one of them. The next day, Dr. Ned Friedman announces a cure for cancer but gives no details, so reporter Sarah starts digging with her friends Robert and Jeff. Ryu, who knows them, hears a young girl calling for help from Friedman's house, and the group soon learns the doctor has been experimenting on living people with biotechnology. The work may be tied to the Evil Gods Ryu defeated long ago, and when his friend Irene is kidnapped, he takes up the role of the Dragon Ninja once more to rescue her.
