The show doesn't try to be anything bigger than a collection of quiet supernatural moments in a Heian courtyard. Kagura drifts in and out of sleep while spirits and oddities materialize around her with the casualness of weather. You're not solving mysteries or watching epic battles, you're sitting in the dark with someone who's half-awake, letting strange things wash over you like they're the most natural part of the night.

Kagura settles into the quiet of night, watching cherry blossoms drift through the moonlit courtyard. When a shimmering butterfly spirit, Kochou no Sei, glides past, its glittering dust lulls her to sleep, and a story begins in her dream. It is set in Heian-kyo, where humans and ayakashi live side by side and spirits lurk in the darkness after nightfall, waiting to stir up trouble. Blade produced these 12 short episodes as an ONA in 2018, a blend of comedy and slice-of-life with a supernatural twist.
