Araragi's third year of high school takes a strange turn when Suruga introduces him to Ougi Oshino, a peculiar transfer student who wants his advice about something she has found. Ougi draws a map of Naoetsu High School and notices a classroom in a spot where no room should exist. Unsure whether an apparition is behind it, the two set out to find the truth. Once Araragi ends up locked inside with Ougi, he learns that the room holds the memory of an event he had long forgotten. What emerges is a story about what made Araragi who he is and how everything began, told as a supernatural mystery with a strong psychological and dramatic focus.
