Two kids who grew up together finally get to test what they've become, then immediately get pulled into something bigger than either of them bargained for. The energy never stops moving, rival battle to thunderstorm to Team Rocket conspiracy, each beat landing before you catch your breath. This is what a Pokémon special should be: genuinely fun, competent enough to matter, no pretense that you need to care about anything except watching Kenta and Marina figure out they're stronger together than apart.

Kenta, an aspiring Pokémon master, meets his childhood friend Marina at a Pokémon Center so they can battle and see how far each has come. A thunderstorm cuts their match short, and two Team Rocket members, Bashou and Buson, show up with the Crystal System, which draws in Electric-type Pokémon. Guided by Shiranui-hakase, the duo plans to deliver Pokémon to Sakaki. When Kenta and Marina stumble onto the plot, they set out to stop it, but the task grows harder once the legendary Raikou ends up captured. The one-episode special mixes action, adventure, comedy and fantasy.
